County Championship.
A game of two halves caused by a strong down field in new Inn on Saturday last made proceedings difficult for both ourselves and Boherlann in the opening round of the county series. The opening exchanges were tough and uncompromising but with the aid of the stiff breeze we managed to get to half time 7 points to the good at 1-12 to 1-05. Immediately in the second period, Boherlann pointed which hastened anxieties in Mary’s followers but the lads kept the gap to 7 with a rapid exchange of points between both sides over the following fifteen minutes. The next period of play saw Boherlann grab two quickfire goals, closing the gap to five points but a key interception by Liam Ryan and subsequent pass up the line to Joe Gunne garnered a free to stem the tide. Further points by sharpshooter Sean Kennedy and Jason Lonergan saw us home on a 1-19 to 3-09 scoreline.
The following team lined out: 1.Shane O Neill (capt)
2.Richie Gunne 3.Liam Ryan 4.Adam Peters (0-01) 5.Jamie Peters 6.Ross Peters (0-01) 7.Gavin Ryan 8.Seamus Kennedy (0-02f) 9.Eric Walsh (0-01) 10.Dean Fitzgerald (1-01) 11.Jason Lonergan (0-03) 12.Michael Murphy 13.Joe Gunne (0-02) 14.Kyle Peters (0-01) 15.Sean Kennedy. (0-07f)

Douglas Tournament.
Douglas in Cork was the venue for a four team U12 tournament on Saturday. Dicksboro, Ballygunner ourselves and the hosts took part in the Matthew Twomey memorial event.
The lads reached the final after overcoming the Kilkenny and Waterford sides to face the home team where they came up a little short to a deserving Douglas side.
Following the action, our travelling contingent were treated to tremendous hospitality finishing off a great days sport.
Many thanks to the Douglas club for hosting us and to our own parents for the support provided with the vocal cords and transportation.
