FAI YOUTHS CUP

St Michaels 0 Clonmel Town 1

On a very windy day in Tipp town on Saturday it was Town who started better side and were unlucky not to go ahead after a great run and shot from Kian Cullinane went just wide.

Town had most of the possession but struggled to break through the St Michaels defence. Kian Quinn made an excellent point-blank save to keep the score level. On 30 mins, Town took a deserved lead when Dylan Bates volleyed his effort into the top corner from 18 yards.

The boys had less of the ball in the second half but St Michaels struggled to break down Town, which was excellently marshalled by Ian Healy and Luke O’Donnell. Callum Meagher was very unlucky not to double Town’s lead on 80 minutes.

Well done, boys. Great result!

TSDL 2nd Division

Suirside 2-2 Clonmel Town B

Both teams had to settle for a point each in this highly entertaining game in Grange. Town were quickest out of the block as Dylan Guiry, on his debut for the club, raced clear on goal and slip past the onrushing keeper to put us ahead after six minutes. Craig Condon doubled Town’s lead after twelve minutes when Shane Foley delivered a cross to the far post and Condon was on hand to slide home at the back post. When Paul Ryan smashed the ball off the crossbar after great work from Shane Fagan, it could have all been different as Suirside pulled one back after the half-hour mark.

The home team to their credit took control of the game and deservedly equalized with twenty minutes to go which made for an exciting finish but both teams failed to find that all-important winner and it finished 2-2.

Well done to Robbie, Juicy and the team.
