by admin on 23/01/2018

Kevin Wall is a native of Clonmel who is a rower stretching over the last two decades. The Clonmel man was born with Cerebral Palsy but the disability itself has struggled to hold him back. He has been on the Irish squad for the London 2012 Paralympics and been an immigrant to Australia during the recession, he was on the Australian Squad for the Rio Paralympics but delay in his citizenship prevented him from the participating in the games, yet failing to reach the games twice hasn’t held this man back.

Kevin returned to Ireland as a duel national in September and like always he maintained the high level of training rowing demands. He won an Irish Indoor Championship in University of Limerick in November last, setting a new Irish record on the way. He then took his chances on a European scale at the European Indoor Rowing Championships in Amsterdam on Dec 9th and came fourth. All these achievements came with personal best times at every hurdle.

Kevin was nominated as one of 5 athletes/ teams for Beat`s 102 103 Sports star of the month in November. He won the public vote and he now goes forward to be one of 12 Athletes / teams in the running for the Beat 102 103`s 2017 Athlete of the Year at an awards night this Saturday 27th January in Mount Wolseley Hotel, Co. Carlow.

You can support Kevin in the link below as he is not only representing his sport but also the town of Clonmel.
