Clonmel Heartsafe Programme

Clonmel Heartsafe Programme

Clonmel Heartsafe Programme

Clonmel Heartsafe Programme launched in 2005 and has a total of 16 defibrillators installed in and around Clonmel.Over 800 people have been trained in the use of a defibrillator in the town which was the first and still remains, the only town in Ireland to be awarded “Heartsafe” by the Irish Heart Foundation.

There is a training course in the use of the defibillator and CPR which takes 3 hours. People who have done this are asked to take a refresher course of 45 minutes, 2 – 3 times a year.

The aim of the Clonmel Heartsafe Programme is to have defibrillators available 4-5 minutes from people any where in the town.

The Programme is being funded by the business people and the good will of the people in Clonmel.
