I am pretty certain it is 47 o connell st., now dalys. I lived there for about 9 years where my father jim o dwyer ran a large grocery and pub.as it happens ,i am presently writing my memoirs and have just been describing number 47. Yes it had the arched windows in all their beauty, when i was a child. What a house to grow up in. Mary o farrell
GLADSTONE ST MULCAHYS
@Mary boersma, 4 morton st is still there it is numbers 1-3 that were knocked. 4 is now a HSE day care service.
Does anyone know what year this photo was taken?

Morton Street is still there but I don’t know what way the houses are numbered, possible house could be gone.
Thank you for the information about Minchin’s business. i have been trying for months to find something about them. My great grandma’s address is listed as 4 Morton street, Clonmel at the time of her marriage in 1880. I assume that address does not exist any more.? Thank you, Mary. (She was a Minchin)
As far as I know the Minchins used to have a General Merchants business across from Ss Peter & Pauls Church in Gladstone Street, where Dougans Optician is now.
Does any of you Clonmel experts remember a shop/business owned by a family called Minchin.? They are ancestors of mine, I think, and I would love to know something about them. Many thanks, Mary
Well done Brian, it is now Liam Daly’s Pub in O Connell Street
