Yes this is the top of Upper Irishtown and as far as I am aware my grandfather (Michael Halpin) frequented the Princess Bar for a bottle or two of porter but as children we new it as Campions Bar.

The top of irishtown the first three houses on the right are gone now and were replaced by Andy Dillons garage in the late 70s or early 80s and the big building is the Princess bar, which was probably called Parsons bar when the photo as taken and later became The Horseshoe bar before Tim and Lucia Clarke took over the bar in 1988/89 and called it The Princess bar which it still remains ,the first building on the left side was Prendergast s bar now the 19th hole and it was corcorans durings the 90s. The car on the left hand side of the road is parked in front of Careys shop which was a busy shop during the 80s and early 90s where you could buy anything from a needle to an anchor, and pick up all the latest news, before the internet of course……”’
