My memory says Der Power is correct.
Nial could the Bulbert in irishtown be whom i refer to as the Missies Bulbert and from whom i bought my treasured scraps which i lovingly stored in a scrapbook, a bit like the current crase of decoupage. Presently I am writing my memoires and am relating all this stuff I lived in 47 O Connell St.

Bulberts was at 100 Irishtown and they did sell scraps. Good luck with your memoires.

60 0’Connell Street, is now, the ZipYard, on the corner of Mary Street. in the 1960’s it was FitzGerald’s newsagents and O’Mahoney’s had a pub next door. Condon’s had a Grain & Flower shop next to O’Mahoney’s, Condon’s is now O’Gorman’s Bakery.
My late father John Power, acquired FitZgeralds and O’Mahoneys towards the end of of the 1960’s and demolished both buildings and constructed the building which is now the ZipYard, the Hibernian Insurance Company had offices on the ground floor from the time the new building was completed in 1974 to 2003.
As part of the planning permission, a large section of FitzGeralds building was taken by Clonmel Corporation to widen the Mary Street junction with O’Connell Street.

My comment of 31 August maybe incorrect as the photo is that of 61 O’Connell St Both 61 & 62 have the same windows i,e., red brick around edges. No 60 may have been subdivided into two shops – Fitzgerald and Bulbert’s both shops were narrow and nothing like your shot of the present day photo of “The Book Nook”
Fitzgeralds that I remember was a small newsagency & sometimes selling potatoes

It’s my Grandparents shop at 60 O’Connell St (Gorman’s Bakery/cafe) his slogan was – The Gaelic League House, Gaelic Publications of Every Description Always in Stock. Years later he had a book shop at 101 Irishtown – BULBERT

Did Thos. Moran’s have a Tobacco Shop on that site some years ago….. on Gladstone Street ?

I’m thinking that maybe it was located in O Connell st. From looking at the upstairs Windows I’d say it’s the lefthand side of the O Connell Mall.
