Cllr. Darren Ryan is currently a Labour Party Councillor on Clonmel Borough Council & South Tipperary County Council. He is married to Yvonne Hannigan from Cashel and is son of Sean Ryan & Marie Ryan (nee O’ Dwyer) 160 Elm Park Clonmel. Darren works in a Day Activation Centre for adults with Intellectual disabilities, run by the Brothers of Charity.
On his electoral debut Darren Ryan pulled in an enormous 580 first preference Votes in the 2004 local elections, one of only two candidates to exceed the quota. It was an incredible performance for Darren who lived in Elm Park. Darren is a known and dedicated community worker for many voluntary and community groups in and around Clonmel.
Darren has been one of the hardest working councilors in Clonmel since his election and has been working hard on a lot of issues, disability, community policing, improving & maintaining our health services in South Tipperary, better youth and community services for Clonmel, traffic calming on Clonmel by-pass to name just a few. Darren is looking forward to the challenge of the elections and with your NO1 VOTE, to representing you again on both Clonmel Borough Council and Clonmel Electoral area of South Tipperary County Council.
