Tipperary County Museum is looking to ‘Christmases Past’ for our inspiration for a fun filled day for all the family. Come along and join us on Saturday, 9th December from 11am – 2pm for a festive experience of ‘Christmases Past’.

Discover the foods and traditionsof a Medieval Christmas with Montague Heritage Services.

Have some fun with Victorian parlour games – maybe even try them with your family this Christmas, suitable for people of all ages and abilities. Relax with storytelling, like ‘The Night Before Christmas’, or read excerpts from ‘A Christmas Carol’.

Try your hand at making traditional paper decorations for the tree, as many of our grandparents and great grandparents did in 20th Century Ireland, or make your own Christmas cards to send to family and friends.

Listen to Christmas themed music from the 12th century through to the 19th century, on various replica medieval instruments including Lute, Hurdy-Gurdy, Dulcimer and Harp, performed by Sam Burke of Nuada.
