For its first show of 2019, The Monday Club at The 19th Hole Pub is delighted to welcome Mark Geary, a great Irish Singer-Songwriter from Dublin.

Mark emigrated to New York in 1992, aged 19. He gradually established himself as one of New York’s most popular singer/songwriters with the New York press calling him the next in a line of honest and personal songwriters who have made a mark on the music industry there. He started performing in the Sin E, a famous NYC pub owned by his brother. Mark released his debut album on Paradigm recordings in 1991. He released his second album “Thirty Three and a Third Grand Street” in 2002, recorded with a talented group of musicians and an eclectic selection of instruments that grabbed the attention of lots of new fans in the US and abroad.

Mark’s 2015 album, Ghosts, brought him critical acclaim on both sides of the Atlantic and was voted 2005’s album of the year by The Irish Voice magazine. His 2008 album, Opium, continued this trend of showcasing his talents. In 2009, he released a live album recorded in New York featuring songs from the all the studio albums. His most recent studio album, Songs about Love, songs about Leaving, was recorded in Nw York with NYC veteran musician Jimi Zhivago on bass, keys and guitars and with Jenna Nicholls and Glen Hansard on backing vocals.

Mark has composed the score to several films, and his songs have been featured on several television shows, including One Tree Hill and Bones.

Mark Geary spices up traditional folk/roots arrangements and instrumentation with bits of electronica in the open spaces and background of his music. He is a witty and engaging live performer, and he has just returned from one of his regular tours in Switzerland.

This show takes place in the cosy 19th Hole Pub in The Irishtown, in a cosy cafe style setting with full seating at candle-lit tables. The 19th Hole opens especially for these Monday night shows

Doors for the gig will open at 7pm. There will be no support act, and Mark Geary will start at 8pm prompt.
